Leopold Strauss' arrival at Chicago marked the start of the Chicagoan Cult of Mithras' chapter. He led it from his seat at the head of the 'Columbian Initiative', a charity and community outreach institution that had been sweeping many of the local kine for the last couple of years, until it's dissolution following a freak meteor impact on the headquarters.
